Meet Buddy

Hey friends, my name is Buddy, and I’m looking for my forever home! I love snuggling with other fur friends, lap time, and getting belly rubs. I also enjoy long naps on my dog bed, being with people as much as possible, and supervising my foster mom while she works from home.

I get along great with other dogs and have had no issues with my foster cat. I’m house trained and getting more comfortable being in a crate when home alone and during bedtime. I am skilled at excavation and exploration, so foster mom no longer leaves me unattended in the yard, or I will go exploring.

I will need slow introductions with strangers, and I am hopeful my new family can be very patient with me because my love is worth the wait! Some may call me crotchety, but that’s what makes me extra loveable and quirky. When I first got to my foster home, I was scared, nervous, and snarled a bit. My foster mom approaches me slowly now, and I let her pet me while I roll over for belly rubs. If you are slow and steady with me, I promise we can get through the beginning stuff!

Another quirk is that I do not like to be picked up, especially if I do not trust you. Now that I have gotten used to foster mom, I will flop over at her feet and, if she is slow about it, I will allow her to pet me then pick me up. I have done well with small children if they respect my space and their people are attentive.

My perfect home would be quiet with a patient person that is home with me often. I have some separation anxiety, and I am much happier with people and my own emotional support dog to share my home. Come and submit an application because I could be the pup of your dreams!
