Meet Doki

Did you know Doki Doki means to feel your heart beat? Doki is a heart throb of a pup who, after a rough start in life is learning what is expected of him to be part of a family.

Doki is a 3 year old pointer mix who came to MMiH after being rescued in a hoarders home with 32 other dogs. Doki has a visual impairment but it doesn’t impact him once he learns the lay of the land. He hasn’t been provided guidance and training and has been left to bumble along in life.

Doki had been so starved for attention that he now prefers to be the only one who gets all of your attention. He has had previous experience with other dogs in the household and, with slow introduction, guidance, patience and consistency he will flourish.

Doki loves to spend time next to his people, no matter where you are. He loves to take walks in the woods, with so many smells. With some guidance, Doki could make a great hiking buddy. Doki’s favorite thing, next to being with you, is napping on comfy blankets and dog beds. Doki os very gentle, sweet, mellow and inquisitive. He would love to find a permanent place to lay his head. He hadn’t been provided guidance and training and hlwas been left to bumble along in life. Doki does understand some basic commands like sit and is learning wait. He is house trained.

Doki loves to spend time next to his people, no matter where you are. Doki loves kids but, when adjusting, can find their boisterousness unsettling. He would do well with children, given the time to adjust otherwise, we recommend children 6 and up. He loves to take walks in the woods, since there are so many smells to explore. He loves long neighborhood walks too, he prefers walks in areas without a lot of cars or traffic as his lack of sight makes him uncomfortable with the road noise.
