Meet Mia

Mia is as sweet and loving as she looks. She knows how to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, whether that’s a nap on the patio on a sunny day, a soft bed after a walk, or a chance to lean against a trusted human. Mia is a lover of leisure but not a lazy dog. She enjoys playing in the yard with her foster sisters and heading out the door to discover the world, even if this seems to be a new and sometimes scary experience. Whatever love she enjoyed in her past home, it might not have included walking in busy neighborhoods. She needs extra support and patience getting used to these outdoor adventures.

Where Mia might lack experience she makes up for in adventuresome and loving spirit. She’s quick to warm up to humans and an experienced attentive owner will find she is very easy to read. She loves playing with dogs her size but needs extra time acclimating to a new space before starting introductions. Mia loves children but doesn’t really understand that she’s not a small dog. She would do well in a home with older children who can understand boundaries and can participant in helping her find safety and confidence.

Mia needs a patient owner who can see the amazing dog she is and is willing to spend the time to help her feel safe and build confidence. Anyone who’s ready to pay attention to her and understand her needs will be rewarded with a very loyal, intelligent and active dog.
